NO DOMINION: THE IAN HORVATH STORY
A FILM BY NEL SHELBY AND MARGARET MULLIN
No Dominion: The Ian Horvath Story celebrates the remarkable life and career of the late Ian Horvath who became a dancer, choreographer, director, and champion for the art of dance before losing a harrowing battle with AIDS. In a combination of archival footage, interviews, and a dramatic restaging of two of his choreographic works, this film seeks to reveal the creativity and the dedication that Ian offered the world.
No Dominion: The Ian Horvath Story has just finished its first portion of filming! Dancers from five US Dance Companies traveled to Seattle, WA to dance two of Ian Horvath's choreographic works for the first time. This was an exciting collaboration between artists of Pacific Northwest Ballet, The Joffrey Ballet, VERB Ballets, Ballet Tucson, and Boston Ballet. Directors and producers Margaret Mullin and Nel Shelby are thrilled with the outcome of these performances and can't wait to share them in the film. It was a truly inspiring experience for the dancers and film crew.
